Goetz and Scott from the INLOC team facilitated chainsaw training and workshops with volunteers from the Kuranda Myola Rural Fire Brigade.
Goetz is also a volunteer with the Rural Fire Service and a very seasoned advanced tree faller on fire lines, so these life experiences made the training most realistic and practical.
The chairs cut out of a block of wood further demonstrated their skills and competency in doing difficult chainsaw cuts. Over two days the group trained in ‘hands-on’ all about chainsaw operations and maintenance, especially when chainsaws are needed in a fire or storm event.
Thanks to the local crew for putting on a wonderful BBQ after training.
